RESCUE VOLUNTEERS is an NGO based in Accra with activities in the communities of beneficiaries of our various programs in Ghana.
RESCUE creates a platform for people to volunteer in development of other people and the community they live in. We believe that everyone has a talent to assist in development programs. Volunteers are therefore assigned onto tasks according to their strengths in various projects under the following programs:
2019 PROGRAM
We have only one recognized farming season in the North. Rescue asks why not two or more in this age? 2019 introduces model program for lean season farming using technology available in government research agencies and universities to boost agric productivity in the country. We plan also to partner other programs like youth in agric and planting for food and jobs program for a desired result.
This aims at preparing trainees commercially for international market through AGOA program currently superintended by the Ghana Chamber of Commerce.
To permanently keep the labour force in the north, there should be a program of activity that can earn them livelihood in their own hometown. Rescue believes that this is possible if we train the youth to produce what the region is noted for and promote the outcome to the international market. 2019 program will initiate a model training program teaming up with the Youth Employment Authority and other youth development initiatives.
Rescue plans also to prepare for an annual four-day activity in the North aimed at showcasing products and commercial assets that the regions have been endowed with. This is aimed at searching for market for all the vocational and economic activities that will be initiated in the North to create sustainable development in the region. This we believe will curb migration to the cities in search of unavailable jobs and will reduce the poverty issue that force some girls into early marriage.
Rescue will team up with the tourism sector and investment promotion initiative of Government of Ghana to achieve this.
