There comes a time in one’s life when he or she grows to become a senior citizen (elderly). Rescue Volunteers believes that this is a privilege that must be enjoyed and not lived in suffering. The organization therefore try to identify elderly with socioeconomic challenges in our operational communities to be offered necessary assistance. Most of the elderly in difficulty compound their situation with the care of orphans and ‘grandchildren’ whose living parents have abandoned them.
Rescue Volunteers offer care services to the elderly and widows in diverse ways; at a monthly retreat, we sing and pray and share the word of God. We engage resource persons to talk on issues that pertains to their needs. They are given the opportunity to interact and feel at home. Rescue also gives them food items to take home after they have been refreshed.
