COVID-19 Pandemic brought with it a lot of surprises that overwhelmed the whole world. Luckily for Ghana the effect was not too devastating as experienced elsewhere.

Nevertheless, there was the need to take necessary action to protect our own.  Following from this, Rescue Volunteers Ghana went on a nationwide campaign in 2020-2021 to demonstrate and distribute PPEs to sellers and buyers at major markets in the country for the first phase of the campaign.

Rescue Volunteers in collaboration with National Commission of Culture and Covid-19 National Trust Fund reached sellers and customers in major markets with message on Covid-19 pandemic. The objective was to ensure that Ghanaians do not contract the virus from the markets to their homes. This was dramatized to have a lasting effect.

Markets places that benefited in the Greater Accra Region: Makola Accra City Centre, Dodowa, Madina, Ashaiman and Kpone. Phase I was climaxed at the Arts Centre Accra with representation from related MDAs. The COVID-19 Trust Fund manager gave an account of fund’s accumulation and disbursement and encouraged Ghanaians to observe the Protocols and keep safe.
