The Greater Regional Office of the National Commission on Culture, under the auspices of the National Commission on Culture, in partnership with Rescue Volunteers Ghana, continued the COVID-19 Awareness Campaign at the Dodowa Market, in the Shai-Osudoku District, of the Greater Accra Region.
The Awareness campaign is for the enforcement of effective usage of the Face Masks and all protocols to be observed, by the Market Women and their patrons of the Market, within the Dodowa Catchment area and it’s adjourning communities.

The campaign, held on the theme, “MASK-UP, COVID-19 DOWN” was organized to re-echoe, enforce and inculcate into all Residence within Dodowa and it’s environs, need to follow the directives, as advised by the World Health Organization (WHO) Ministry of Health, and His Excellency, the President of the Republic Of Ghana.

The Organisers, used the enacted of drama, theatrical performances and cultural display, English, GA-Dangbe and Akan languages to drum the messages to all and sundry for effective communication.

Speaking to the Media on the sidelines, the Greater Accra Regional Director, of the National Commission on Culture (NCC), Madam Alice Alima Kala, called on the National Commission For Civic Education (NCCE), to use creative means to Educate the Populace about the Corona Virus Pandemic. She says most people will easily pay attention and obey the safety protocols if the messages spreadsheet across are Communicating well, without ambiguity, but engaging.

The Regional Director further stated that individuals will be well educated in propagating messages about the Pandemic. MD. Alice Kala said, people can best appreciate the consequences of not adhering to the protocols through drama.

A Non-Profit Making Organization, Rescue Volunteers Ghana, partnered the Centre for National Culture (CNC), with COVID-19 branded T-shirts, and PPE’s, thus, Alcohol Based Hand Sanitizers, Rescue Volunteers, Ghana branded Nose Masks, to the Market Women and other Traders.

Addressing the Market Women, the Country Director of Rescue Volunteers Ghana, Lydia Tsotsoo Odai Tettey, admonished the traders to all the safety protocols.

According to the Ghana Health Service, though adherence to the COVID-19 safety Protocols has heightened, the general public must adhere to safety protocols because the virus still persist.

Health experts say one of the ways through which compliance can be sustained is consistent education.
