Orphan Care

Rescue volunteers Sierra Leone believes that leaving the post war orphans in a home serve as a constant reminder of their vulnerability.  Rescue strive to pursue self-development programs for such orphans at holding centres in selected communities in Kailahul district. This effort is to ensure that the self-orphans will integrate into the society with a new mindset ready to take entrepreneurial risk towards their full development.

Rescue Volunteers operates in the country side where most of the poor reside.  The Headquarters is in Freetown. Our operations bothers on skill building in unemployed youth other marginalised groups.  Orphans are at the fore front of our program beneficiaries.  Reason being that effects of hardship strike them the most, since they have no immediate family to turn to in times of trouble.

Our focus is first geared towards providing skilled training at day centres till holding facilities and shelters are provided for the identified orphans.  Kailahul district has more of our beneficiaries, mostly found in Shegbwema and Koindu.
